Common Questions about Rosacea

  • Rosacea is a common, chronic skin condition that typically affects the face and can cause a permanent flush, enlarged capillaries, and redness. While it is non-contagious, it can be a source of frustration for those who experience it.

  • Treatment for rosacea often focuses on reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and strengthening the skin. This can involve laser therapies, such as the Alma Harmony XL Pro, which uses gentle pulses of light to shrink dilated blood vessels and reduce inflammation.

  • While the exact cause of rosacea is unknown, several factors may be involved, including genetics and environmental factors. Triggers such as sun exposure, hot drinks, spicy foods, and stress can also worsen symptoms.

  • Rosacea typically first appears between the ages of 30 and 50. However, suitability for treatment is based on a personalised skin assessment and your unique needs, rather than age alone.

  • Caroline Newman and her team have seen laser treatments evolve, remaining at the forefront of the cosmetic industry. Their approach is grounded in careful facial analysis and informed, individualised planning to help manage concerns.

  • The cost of treatment can vary depending on the approach used, the treatment area, and the number of sessions recommended. Detailed pricing is provided during your initial consultation, where your needs are assessed and suitable options are outlined clearly.

  • We use the Alma Harmony XL Pro with two different modes. The Alma Harmony ClearLift laser treatment utilises a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064nm) to address various skin concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, and skin laxity, with minimal to no downtime. ClearLift works by creating controlled dermal wounds in the deeper layers of the skin top stimulate collagen production, improving skin tone and texture.
The Alma Harmony Dye-VL treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to address skin concerns like redness, rosacea, and pigmentation. It works by targeting specific pigments (melanin and haemoglobin) in the skin, breaking them down, and allowing the body to naturally eliminate them. This results in a more even skin tone and reduced appearance of vascular lesions and pigmentation.
Both treatments have no down time and minimal-to-no pain.
